Newsletter: Something shifted in Miami. And it starts with you.

May 24, 2026

Dear IMG Colleagues,

Something shifted in Miami. And before we tell you what happened, we want to say something first.

Thank you.

Word is spreading. Physicians are telling colleagues. Colleagues are telling organizations. Applications are coming in from directions we did not expect. That is not happening because of advertising. It is happening because of you. Because you believed in this enough to share it. Because you refused to keep it to yourself.

That is exactly the kind of community this pathway needs to survive and grow. And you are building it.

Now let us tell you what your belief helped create.

The Room Was Too Small.

Last weekend, Dr. Mohamed Khalif and I attended The IMG Event in Miami, hosted by Project IMG. WeAreDocs | TIMGA was a sponsor and we were scheduled to run a small workshop on the alternate licensure pathway.

We were not prepared for what happened.

The group grew so large we were moved out of our workshop room and into the main hall. We did not just participate in the conference. We kicked it off. Our session became the opening main event.

The energy in that room was unlike anything we have experienced. The questions were sharp, informed, and passionate. Physicians from across the world, different specialties, different backgrounds, different stages of their journeys, all leaning forward, all hungry for answers.

The grit in that room was palpable. Almost electric. Every single physician who showed up carried something that no system can manufacture. The kind of determination that only comes from having everything on the line and choosing to keep going anyway.

To those of you we met in person, thank you for introducing yourselves. Thank you for sharing your stories. That is what this community is supposed to feel like. And we left Miami more fired up than ever.

The Right People Are Now Paying Attention.

This is no longer a conversation happening at the edges.

At The IMG Event we connected with leaders and representatives from organizations that are shaping the future of medicine in this country. Among those who expressed genuine interest in learning more about this pathway was the President of the American Board of Pediatrics. When credentialing leaders start asking questions, the conversation has reached a new level.

This is exactly what we need. This is exactly what we want.

And we do not do this work alone. WeAreDocs works side by side with some of the most respected organizations in this space. World Education Services, Upwardly Global, the Niskanen Center, and Global Talent Bridge are among the groups working to connect globally trained professionals to opportunities in the United States. These are serious organizations with serious reach and real influence.

But here is what sets WeAreDocs apart. We are not just advocates. We are the ones implementing the pathway on the ground. Placement by placement. State by state. Hospital by hospital. We are the bridge between the policy and the practice.

Miami showed us that the world is starting to notice. Now we need to make sure it cannot look away.

Here Is What We Need From You Right Now.

Stop reading for just a moment.

Think of one person. One colleague. One friend. One physician you know who is sitting on the sidelines, waiting for a sign, wondering if there is another way forward.

Forward them this email. Right now. Today. That is it. That is the entire ask.

One forward from every person reading this could change hundreds of lives. Not eventually. Not someday. Now.

If you are working in a healthcare setting, tell someone in your organization that this pathway exists. You do not need to have all the answers. Just say the name WeAreDocs and tell them there is a better way to solve their physician shortage. We will handle the rest.

The first step of this entire pathway is awareness. Before an organization can implement, they have to know it exists. You are the most powerful distribution channel we have. No marketing budget, no campaign, no conference can do what a trusted colleague can do with one conversation.

So have the conversation.

Our Strategy Going Forward.

We are entering the next phase of this mission with a clear strategy and a fire that Miami only made stronger.

We are going to be intentional. We will start where the need is greatest. The underserved communities. The critical access hospitals. The clinics that have been waiting years for a doctor. We will show up there first and prove what this model can do.

When patients start receiving care from IMG physicians who were previously locked out of the system, when outcomes improve, when communities that were ignored begin to feel what it means to have a doctor who shows up for them, no employer will be able to justify not using this model. Every day an organization delays is another day a patient goes without care.

We intend to make that impossible to ignore.

We will not stop until every corner of this country that needs a physician has a real path to finding one. And when we have proven it in the places that need it most, we will take that proof everywhere else.

A Few Important Updates.

Because of the growth we are experiencing, my time is increasingly needed on the front lines. Knocking on doors. Sitting across from hospital leaders and making the case that it would be simply inexcusable not to use this model when patients in their communities are waiting.

By now many of you have already heard from Peace Elemuwa, who has been part of our team for several months working hard behind the scenes for all of you. As we grow, Peace is playing an increasingly central role in keeping our community connected. If you receive an email from her, you are in good hands.

We are formalizing our Saturday group information sessions and Peace will be sending out dates and invite links shortly. Please look out for those and sign up. These sessions are the fastest way to get your questions answered and hear the latest without waiting weeks for a one on one call.

We also want to be honest about something. Individual calls have been booking out so far that by the time the appointment arrives, life has happened, the phone does not get answered, and we are left talking to voicemail about the future of medicine. We completely understand, life is busy and schedules shift. But it does mean that someone else who was eager to connect missed their chance. The group sessions solve this beautifully. You get the same information, the same direct access to us, and you can join in your pajamas on a Saturday morning if that is what works for you. No judgment whatsoever.

For those with individual meetings scheduled, these will be by phone. If you have an international number please download WhatsApp as that is how I will reach you. And for the fastest response on anything, email us directly at info@WeAreDocs.com.

There is still a great deal of work ahead. This movement is young and the road is long. But look at where we started and look at where we are now.

A workshop that became a main event. A board president who wants to learn more. A first in Illinois. A first in the nation. A community of physicians who refuse to give up.

We are just getting started. And the next chapter belongs to all of us.

You are a doctor. This community is your community. And together we are going to make sure that every qualified physician who wants to serve patients in this country gets the chance to do exactly that.

Forward this email to one person today. Then fill out the form below to make sure we have your information:
